In anticipation of the upcoming primary election for the Congressional seat formerly held by Louise Slaughter, the Cinema Theater is proud to host a non-partisan forum on politics in New York State with speaker/moderator Ken Rudin.

Rudin, host of the public radio program Political Junkie, and one of America’s foremost experts in politics and campaign history, will serve as speaker and moderator. The always-lively Rudin is a former political editor at NPR, and continues to appear as a pundit on numerous public radio programs. (Political Junkie airs Saturdays at 4pm on WXXI AM 1370 and FM 107.5).

The conversation will also focus on the role of the media in politics, and the panel will include local media scholar Tom Proietti.  A frequent commentator for WXXI, Proietti is known for his keen insights on the intersection between mass media, popular culture, and politics.  The third panelist will be Emily Robin Minerva, daughter of the late Louise Slaughter.

The night promises to be an animated and informative look at the political process in New York.
